Keynote presenter Simon’s talks are packed with the latest breakthroughs - including augmented reality, mind-control devices, the internet of things and intelligence layering. Instead of just slides Simon fills projector screens with running applications, browsers windows and videos. A menagerie of phones, tablet computers and other gadgets are worked into his talks as he simplifies subjects with live demonstrations of what’s possible. His talks are tailored to the audience and can include topics ranging from social networking, new media and mobile migration to business analytics, workplace evolution and other relevant trends.

During time not spent on stage Simon is technology editor at Finweek Magazine and host of the weekly technology radio show (tech)5 on 5FM. He is also a strategic consultant as one half of the company Massive Gap and a partner at Split Infinitive where he hosts the ZA Tech Show and develops other online broadcasting products.

In the past Simon has contributed to many technology and lifestyle publications and wrote a chapter on Mark Shuttleworth for the book South Africa’s Greatest Entrepreneurs. He contributes to Brainstorm Magazine, ITWeb, Africa Telecoms Review and is often asked to provide comment relating to business and technology on television and radio shows. He is currently working on a book project tentatively titled Square: the way we work now.

Now much of his time is spent travelling and meeting with thought leaders in the tech industry. In recent
months he has met with IBM CEO Sam Palmisano, Nokia CEO Stephen Elop, joint-CEO of Research In
Motion (BlackBerry) Jim Balsillie, and many more, gathering the latest insights for his talks, shows and writing.
