Dr Darren Green, a well-known and trusted figure in the field of Media Medicine, has become one of our household favourite Celebrity role models and doctors. He is a true South African product – the genuine thing – born in Pietermaritzburg, matriculating as Matric of the year and Junior Mayor of Port Elizabeth and proud Old boy of The Grey High School in Port Elizabeth. Darren has achieved and served our country on provincial and National level in various domains.

He achieved provincial colours in rugby, athletics and tennis and was offered a scholarship to play rugby at Maties where he achieved his Western Province colours and was privileged to make the SA u23 Squad before retiring from competitive rugby during his fourth year at Medical school at the University of Stellenbosch. He achieved many accolades of great distinction whilst completing his medical degree, among the most spectacular being Honorary Awards for Leadership and Service as well as being elected as the youngest president of the South African Medical Students Association as well as serving as a chosen Parliamentary Representative for discussions on Vocational Training and Community service.
 
Besides being at the forefront of sharing health and wellness on these platforms, this suave young man is a seasoned performer, who entertains and hosts events both nationally and internationally.

*Redefining wellness in the millennial era

The word wellness is used extensively on different platforms and seems to have influence from different eras and corners of the globe - the age of millennials is upon us , and with that comes an exciting surge of knowledge and change in the approach to finding "Quality of Life" and the progressive definition of wellness along with creative alterations in mindset towards finding true HAPPINESS. Our natural instinct is wired for basic survival. Darren unpacks the magnificence of the human mind and body connections with enlightening references in cutting edge neuroscience and reflects on how we are designed for a destiny beyond the primitive needs of merely surviving and shifting mind sets into a mode that facilitates THRIVING. This is the essence of wellness. 

* "Design for Destiny - more than survival!"
This is interactive talk designed to fascinate and educate participants on HOW we as a species are designed to PERFORM on all levels. It takes a deeper look at the theme of SURVIVAL. It is very inspiring and empowering to reflect on the magnificence of human design and capacity.

*Whats the buzz about "Quality of Life?"    
This is a pertinent question and often drives the very existential crisis so many of us face. How and why do I make the choices I make? Why do I dream about specific things - what drives the perceptions of having a good "Quality of Life". This talk depicts the humorous side of the different life phases and takes a closer look at the core values and belief systems the mould both individual and organizational culture.

*OUTWARD LIVING - keeping your wheel-balancing and alignment in check. 
We are faced with hard questions as we climb the corporate and community ladder of social responsibility. In this talk, I highlight the fundamental factors that power performance. We take a thought provoking look at who and what defines success and HOW and WHY SUCCESS differs from SIGNIFICANCE.

He is a professional performer – vocalist, recording artist and songwriter. Known to most as the singing doctor and Pop Idols 1 finalist, he continues to grace a veritable plethora of audiences nationwide with his magical presence, motivational esteem and gusto charm.
A wide array of achievements has paved the road to his success.
 
IDOLS behind him, he has been entertaining crowds throughout the country with guest appearances, judging, hosting and motivating at numerous events.
Currently he holds down an extremely demanding week – jam packed with creativity and innovation.
 
He recently accomplished – In Fusion, a suave and stylish album which Darren describes as “a variety of styles ranging from contemporary ballads and pop rock to elements of lounge.”
The album comprises six original tracks and seven artfully chosen cover tracks.
 
This captivating album was the first South African Pop album to be mastered at Abbey Road Studios in London by Geoff Pesche, responsible for the likes of Coldplay, Sting, Kylie Minogue and Simon Webb (Blue). In Fusion was locally produced by Helmut Meijer, the Stellenbosch producer who drew fame from other big names DNA Strings, Delta Blue, Lara Frances, Abakondisi Brothers, Heinz Winckler and more….. His musical training has been astounding under the auspices of renowned international Tenor Lloyd Strauss–Smith as well as André Howard from the Stellenbosch conservatory of Music. He has been privileged to have studied under the dynamic figure of the esteemed Cape Town Opera Diva: Prof Virginia Davids from the UCT College of Music.
 
Darren has performed for Nelson Mandela’s 90th Birthday as well as for Archbishop Desmond Tutu and his foundation. He continues to perform for special events with distinction.
