1. My Greek Tragedy. In 1993, I emigrated to Greece for a man – to be with what I considered to be my life partner at the time. This encounter brought me many insights. 2. Above the pain and destruction of trauma, there is perfect order. Always. My life partner has died in 2009 in a plane crash. Despite the associated trauma, I saw this as an opportunity for growth. I did not want to give way to a victim mentality despite his death. God has answered my questions in wonderful ways. 3. Women, Food and God. (The Psychology of Eating) The dynamic between these three elements in the title plays a big role in the life of women. There is a strong synergy between the three. Food and God both provide comfort. And we confuse the one with the other. I believe that 95% of all cultures have an emotional relationship with food. So do I! Precisely because it is a form of comfort. 4. Deal with the card that life has dealt you. If you are born in South Africa, then you have cards! I start at the very beginning at — your birth and the family you were born into. Are you the oldest? The middle child? Perhaps you are the youngest? This serendipitous placement has an influence on your personality, character and your relationships. I also look at important events that happened in our country and how it shaped us. In a nutshell: when you find hope within yourself, you will have the tools to function in a hopeless society
