Guest Speaker Devi Sankaree Govender is one of South Africa’s most respected media personalities and investigative journalists, recognised for her fearless reporting, credibility, and decades-long commitment to uncovering the truth. As an award-winning television journalist, presenter, and conference speaker, she is widely admired for holding governments, corporations, and individuals accountable through courageous and impactful journalism.
With a career spanning radio, print, and television media, Devi has built a reputation for authenticity, integrity, and fearless storytelling. After early roles at SABC Radio and The Sunday Times, she became a prominent investigative journalist on Carte Blanche, South Africa’s longest-running investigative television programme, where she spent 18 years producing groundbreaking stories and helping shape the country’s investigative journalism landscape.
In 2020, Devi joined eMedia, launching The Devi Show during the global pandemic. The programme quickly became one of South Africa’s most-watched factual television shows, reaching millions of viewers weekly and earning widespread industry recognition. In 2021, The Devi Show won the South African Film and Television Award for Best Factual Programme, while Devi herself received the National Film and Television Award for Best Television Presenter in 2024.
