Jessica Davies

Guest Speaker Jessica Davies is a Senior Disruption Analyst at Nedbank CIB. She has spent the last three years immersing herself in emerging technologies to identify disruption and innovation opportunities for the bank and its clients. Her team has a global mandate to experiment with, commercialise and fund the most talented teams working on the biggest opportunities, using their expertise to do good. They were awarded the FT Banker’s inaugural fintech partnership Tech Project Award in 2018 for their partnership with agritech company, Aerobotics and Nedbank CIB’s Team of the Year 2018. Jessica manages Nedbank’s partnerships with Plug and Play Tech Center, Startupbootcamp, Google Launchpad Accelerator and select universities, and connects the world’s best tech talent, startups, scaleups and venture capital firms to one of Africa’s leading banks and its clients.

Before focusing on innovation, Jessica spent two and a half years working in Nedbank CIB’s strategy team which was responsible for corporate strategic planning, research and analysis. This combination of strategic thinking and exposure to cutting edge technologies and disruptive business models leaves Jessica uniquely positioned to guide corporates in a digital first world.

Jessica joined Nedbank in 2015 after graduating from the University of Cape Town with a B.Bus.Sc degree in Actuarial Science. Other interests include assisting startups with business development strategies, advocating women in business and technology and furthering her own interesting in product development and personal finance.
