Kevin was sentenced to death in Zimbabwe and jailed for nearly 20 years by Robert Mugabe. For more than 5 years of his detention he was held in the shadow of Mugabe’s gallows, naked in solitary confinement, and totally cut off from the world.

From Mugabe’s confidant, to condemned prisoner, he will recount his life on the edge, as a double agent. He will relate to you the desolation of being abandoned when he was compromised and detained, and also his lone fight to maintain his humanity, self dignity and sanity in a prison system that belongs to the middle ages.

Removed from society and with his fundamental human rights arbitrarily withdrawn, he has been there, done that, and has got the T-shirt when it comes to stress management, utter hopelessness, and coping under the most desperate conditions imaginable.

PRESENTATION by Kevin Woods MY STORY A few of the many issues Kevin's story will cover: - A brief introduction to his history as a security policeman very close to Mugabe. - The arrest of his wife and daughters. - His conviction and sentence of the death penalty - solitary confinement. - Conditions in prison. - the inhumane, brutal and arcaic aspects of imprisonment in a Zimbabwe jail. - His emotions of absolute desolation and the tools and thought processes that managed to get him through each harrowing day. - His correspondence with people world wide, after he obtained a court order which allowed himand other prisoners to write and receive more than the prior one letter a month. - The aspects of being in control of ones life – and the frustration, exasperation, of having that control removed. - Mandela's requests for his release which was ultimately negotiated by Mugabe’s personal priest. - The joy of the reunion with his children and adjusting to a modern day world.
