Guest Speaker and best-selling author, Nikki Bush, is an award winning speaker that helps individuals and teams to win at life and work. Her passion for connection and relationships, and how to maintain them in a fast-changing world, is at the core of everything she does as a human potential and parenting thought leader.
Nikki is admired and respected in business, education and parenting circles for her work in raising human potential through leadership, engagement, resilience, connection and teamwork. She helps to create mission-ready individuals and organisations for everyday and future disruption.
She has the knack of putting difficult, complex and sensitive topics on the table (ones we often prefer to avoid), and making them accessible, such as disruption, future-proofing, dealing with loss and adversity, team dynamics, self-leadership, parenting and more.
Nikki’s book on disruption, Future-proof Yourself (Penguin Random House) hits the shelves in July 2021. She has also has co-authored four best-selling parenting books with major publishers, including, Future-proof Your Child for the 2020s and Beyond (Penguin Random House, 2019), Tech-Savvy Parenting (Bookstorm, 2014), Easy Answers to Awkward Questions (Metz Press, 2009) and a number of ebooks.
Nikki always speaks with energy, passion, self-deprecating humour and a disarming honesty and vulnerability. She is a high impact and engaging speaker whether she is on the stage or presenting a webinar virtually with experience of 18 different virtual conferencing platforms. She packs a powerful sound bite, provides valuable insights and will leave you and your audience with practical solutions to help you to win at work and life.
NIKKI’S FOOTPRINT
Nikki has presented in South Africa, neighbouring African countries, Hong Kong and the United States. Nikki is as comfortable presenting at high-end conferences as she is in under-resourced squatter camps in Africa. She has high impact with practical application wherever she goes.
She has a large digital footprint and an impressive mainstream media presence. Due to her trusted, independent and informed opinion and her ability to pack a relevant and powerful soundbite, she has racked up over 3 000 media appearances in 15 years. She is the resident family and parenting expert on SABC TV3’s Expresso and Radio 702, where she has had weekly slots for many years.
Nikki has been a guest lecturer at Wits Business School, GIBS & Henley. She is a professional member of the Professional Speakers Association of Southern Africa (PSASA) of which she is a founding member and was the 2020/21 Johannesburg Chapter President.
In 2016 Nikki received her CSP™ (Certified Speaking Professional) designation from the National Speakers Association in the US. It is the highest earned international recognition for professional speakers who speak for a living. Nikki is one of just over 600 speakers in the world to hold this designation. In South Africa she was just the 10th speaker to acquire her CSP and was one of only four women to achieve it at the time.
In 2020 Nikki became a Certified Virtual Presenter with eSpeakers. CLICK HERE to view her profile. During the global pandemic Nikki has worked on over 18 different virtual conferencing platforms proving her flexibility and adaptability in this space.
In 2019 she was inducted into the PSASA’s Speakers Hall of Fame for excellence in her craft, being an industry icon and an example to others. This is a lifetime achievement award in recognition of her impact and the body of work she has created. Nikki was the very first woman to receive this award in the 14 years since its inception in South Africa, breaking the glass ceiling. #womenonfire #doingitforthegirls #glassceiling
Nikki was married to Simon for 26 years before his untimely passing at the end of 2017. She has two sons in their early 20s and they live in Johannesburg. Her children have been the inspiration for much of her work. Family is an extremely high value for Nikki who believes that strong societies are built on the foundation of a strong family life; good matric results rest on good foundations that are laid in the preschool years, and strong businesses are not just about processes but about the people behind them.
