Guest Speaker Pierre Spies is a former Springbok rugby player, leadership speaker, life coach, and pastor who helps organisations build resilient teams, authentic leaders, and high-performing workplace cultures. Drawing on his experience in elite sport, leadership, and personal development, Pierre delivers engaging keynote presentations that inspire individuals and teams to lead with purpose, integrity, and resilience.

Pierre enjoyed an outstanding professional rugby career spanning more than a decade. He made his Super Rugby debut for the Bulls at just 19 years old, going on to play 119 Super Rugby matches between 2005 and 2015. During this time, he helped the Bulls secure three Super Rugby titles and two Currie Cup championships, later captaining the team from 2012 to 2015.

Selected for the Springboks at the age of 21, Pierre earned 53 Test caps between 2006 and 2013, contributing to South Africa’s historic series victory over the British & Irish Lions and the Tri Nations title in 2009. He concluded his professional playing career with Montpellier in France before transitioning into leadership development and pastoral ministry.

Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Theology and qualified as a life coach, Pierre combines the lessons of elite sport with practical leadership principles to help organisations strengthen leadership, develop healthy team cultures, unlock individual potential, and create environments where people can thrive. His authentic, values-driven approach resonates with corporate leaders, schools, sporting organisations, and teams seeking sustainable performance built on trust, purpose, and personal growth.

Today, Pierre serves as Senior Pastor of CRC George, where he continues to mentor and develop leaders while speaking to audiences across South Africa on leadership, identity, teamwork, and developing people to reach their full potential.
