Guest speaker Pieter Geldenhuys is a Futurist, Technology Strategist, and Artificial Intelligence advisor, and is used by some of the world’s leading business schools and universities. These include Columbia Business School, Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and London Business School.

He is the Founder and Director of the Institute for Technology Strategy and Innovation (ITSI).

Pieter is an Electronic Engineer and holds an MBA specialising in Technology Strategy. His doctoral thesis focuses on using a Complex Adaptive Ontology to improve early-market technology adoption.

Over the past 20 years, he and his team have successfully guided more than 5,000 students and delivered over 150 innovation projects within major technology companies across India, the Middle East, and Africa. He has registered more than 12 university-accredited Executive Education courses, including the highly regarded Fintech and AI Masterclasses.

In the past year, he was invited to facilitate the Ministerial Workshop for Oman Vision 2040. His recent clients include Visa, UBS Bank, Accenture, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), and the majority of mobile operators and banks in the Middle East, as well as the governments of Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain.

He previously served as Technology Strategy Advisor to the CEO of Vodacom, and as Vice-Chair of the Innovation Focus Group at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Geneva, Switzerland. He has served on the NACI Advisory Board, guiding the South African Government on AI policy. He is a nominated member of the South African Academy of Science and Arts, a former Chairman of the ATKV, and has served as a board member of various companies within South Africa.

As a seasoned public speaker, he has delivered more than 3,000 public talks in over 25 countries and made over 2,000 national radio appearances. He is also the author of the book Headlines from the Future.

He assists numerous organisations in leveraging their innovative potential by providing them with the skills and insights to become proactive agents in creating the future.
