As an international performer, Amanda Tiffin has performed in London, Japan, Taiwan, Bahrain, Mauritius, U.A.E and Zimbabwe, and has been touring Asia regularly as a featured jazz artist with her trio there – the a.s.k. trio. A.s.k. trio recorded their first album in Amsterdam earlier this year, and it is now distributed in Japan.
The trio was invited to perform on the Taipei international Jazz Festival 2009, and followed that with a tour of Japan, playing venues in Tokyo, and various other cities. Amanda was featured with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London, in 2007 performing music from the documentary feature, Ocean Voyagers, at its International Premiere for Animal Planet. She has toured with various theatre shows and has undertaken several hotel contracts in Bahrain, Mauritius, U.A.E and Zimbabwe.
An acclaimed vocalist and pianist in South Africa. Amanda is a well-known and popular performer in South Africa, having made her mark first as a vocalist, then later as a jazz pianist. She performed to an enthusiastic capacity crowd on the 2010 Cape Town International Jazz Festival with her South African trio, and was also the South African choir director and backing singer for George Benson’s Nat King Cole Tribute Concert on the 2010 Cape Town International Jazz Festival.
Amanda has performed as a featured soloist on the Standard Bank National Jazz Festival in Grahamstown, in 2004 and 2006, and with the a.s.k trio in 2010, and has also featured with the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra at the gala evening Night Of 100 Stars, 2005 at the Artscape Opera House, and with the Durban City Orchestra, performing her own compositions orchestrated by German conductor Philipp Maier.
She is a popular regular performer at top Cape Town Jazz venues, including The Green Dolphin, Pigalle, Paranga, Sheraton Hotel, The Cape Quarter, Fogey’s Railway House.
