Profile:
Khanya Mkangisa is a South African television presenter and actress best known as a presenter for YOTV and for hosting the e.tv reality competition series Shield Teen No Sweat Dance Challenge, in 2008.

She is also known for her role as Asanda on the SABC1 drama series Zone 14, since 2011.

Born in Peddie in the Eastern Cape, Khanya made her TV debut as a youth show presenter on YOTV at the age of 14, where she remained for three years. She studied at AFDA in Johannesburg, achieving a BA degree in motion picture and television.

As the only child of a single parent, Khanya was a top achiever at school and a skilled netball player. She got her first TV job as a Grade 10 learner and the performing bug bit.

Having earned her live broadcasting stripes, Khanya quickly moved onto other presenting gigs, such as the educational science show Knock Knock and Hectic Nine-9.

Not content with just being a presenter, Khanya set out to conquer the series genre as well, appearing in shows like The Lab, Mtunzini.com, uGugu no Andile and Zone 14.

In 2012 she played the starring role of Nonhle Minola in the SABC1 mini-series Forced Love which - like uGugu no Andile - was part of the channel's "Shakespeare in Mzansi" strand. Forced Love (originally entitled Goba Msenge) is an adaptation of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew, set in a contemporary South African setting.

In 2013 she had a starring role in the second season of the SABC1 drama series Intersexions, appearing in five episodes - more than any other actor.

She also has a starring role as Mpilo Cele, Jazzman's daughter who has just enjoyed a gap year with her father's blessing only to find she has to grow up and be the next "it" girl, in the Mzansi Magic soap opera Zabalaza.
