Guest speaker Amy Kleinhans-Curd is a woman with a large portfolio of interests; business woman with 16 years of public speaking experience, philanthropist, counsellor/business mentor, representative and spokesperson of leading brands accross many industries, international model and mother of 4 with a keen interest in sports, the arts and travel.

Amy qualified as a teacher shortly before holding the coveted title of “Miss South Africa” in 1992. As the first ‘non-white’ Miss South Africa Pre-Democracy, Amy was able to represent SA in the ‘Miss World’ competition after the lift of sanctions. As a representative for South African rights, Amy refused to carry the old South African flag which represented the apartheid government and, as such, was recognised by Nelson Mandela for her commitment to democracy and the rights of South Africans.

As an ambassador for South Africa, Amy has remained an active participant in celebrity events, in hosting international visitors and her activities remain focused primarily around South Africa’s ability to sustain and develop its’ youth.

Since 1993, Amy has been actively involved in several business interests all primarily focused on providing a platform for employee wellness, customer acquisition and retention programmes along with learning and development amongst South Africa’s previously disadvantaged communities.

Amy has recently focused her energy on the promotion and sustainable development of Southern Africa’s SME and SMME markets. These initiatives aim to provide large corporates the platform to grow and develop supplier SME’s into sustainable and contributing organisations with measurable success and results.
